Updated Skin Care Routine!
Hi Beauties! Today I thought I would just go over my updated skin care routine! I wrote about this not too long ago but I took a deeper look at my routine and realized it needed some changing.
Fortunately for me, Ive never had "problem skin". Ive never battled with acne, severe breakouts or even oily skin. However, I still did get very minor breakouts that sometimes wouldn't even break the skin. When I would see these small breakouts happen I, naturally, wanted fight them ASAP and get rid of them as quick as I could. Turns out the products I was using to "fight" the breakouts went hand in hand with why they occurred!
I was previously using Neutrogena Oil- Free Acne cleanser and its matching moisturizer (both of which contain salicylic acid). Now I know that these are not the strongest or "toughest" forms of acne treatment but it turns out that they were wreaking havoc on my skin!
I always knew I had somewhat sensitive skin (as I have reacted to acne treatments in the past) but I didn't know just how sensitive my skin actually was. Even the small amount of salicylic acid that was in these products was to much. These products were meant for people with more sever acne problems (to my defence, which women doesn't feel like her acne breakouts aren't severe)
Once I connected my breakouts to the treatment I was using to try and "fight" them, I knew I had to change my skin care ASAP. Now I obviously don't use super fancy face products, so I went to my local drug store and picked up the most gentle cleanser I could find.
I decided to go with the Olay gentle clean foaming cleanser and matching cleansing cloths. Almost overnight I noticed a difference using this cleanser.
Each night I take my makeup off with one of the wipes and then go onto use the cleanser (I used to use the cleanser again in the morning but I found even that frequent of use was too hard on my skin, so now I just use it at night :)). I then moisturize my skin with Olay active hydrating beauty fluid. Plus as always, I still take my Natures Bounty Hair, Skin and Nail vitamins everyday :)
I'm so glad I found some products that are gentle enough for my skin! For now these products will be my go-to's
xox,
Jamie
